Scorigami FAQ
- What is scorigami?
- A scorigami is a final score that has never happened before in NFL history. Every game either repeats a score that has already happened or produces a new one, and the new ones are the scorigamis.
- Who invented scorigami?
- Jon Bois coined the term in 2014 and popularized it with a 2016 video. The idea is simple: track every final score the league has ever produced and watch for the ones that are brand new.
- What is the most common NFL score?
- 20–17 is the most common final score in NFL history, with 302 games in this data. 27–24 is next with 244.
- Which scores can never happen?
- Any score where the loser has more points than the winner, plus seven low totals no sequence of scoring plays can reach: 1–0, 1–1, 2–1, 3–1, 4–1, 5–1, and 7–1. A one-point safety exists, but it can only happen on a conversion try after the other side's touchdown, so the team that gives it up already has at least 6.
- Why is a 1-point score possible?
- A one-point safety can be scored on a two-point conversion try, so a team can finish with exactly 1 point. Because that try follows the other team's touchdown, the lowest possible score with a 1 is 6–1, which has not happened yet. 1–0 and 1–1 can never happen.
- How does MockSlate count?
- Every NFL and AFL regular-season and playoff game since 1920 counts, Super Bowls included, 18,234 games in all. The AAFC and the Pro Bowl are left out. A score counts once per game, from the winner's side, and ties count as their own score.

Scorigami is a term coined by Jon Bois in 2014; his 2016 video explains the idea. Game data from nflverse and the FiveThirtyEight NFL archive: every NFL and AFL regular-season and playoff game since 1920, Super Bowls included, the AAFC and the Pro Bowl left out. Franchises carry their current name, so the Baltimore Colts count for Indianapolis and the Houston Oilers for Tennessee. Download the league scores as CSV.
