Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 13, 2026
This policy covers mockslate.com, operated by Cody Blaze Enterprises LLC. The short version: we collect the minimum needed to run the service, we don’t run ads, we don’t sell personal data, and you can email hello@mockslate.com to see, fix, or delete what we hold about you.
1. What we collect
Account. An email address and a password (stored as a secure hash, never in plain text). Creating an account also creates a profile that can hold an optional public display name — you choose it, and only if you want one.
What you build and enter. Your saved mocks, contest and game entries, picks, and league memberships. When you enter a prize contest we also record your confirmation that you’re 18 or older, which version of the contest rules you accepted, and when — contest law requires it.
Payments. Checkout runs on Stripe. Your card number goes to Stripe, not to us — we never see or store it. We keep what a business has to keep: your subscription status, purchase history (what was bought, when, and the Stripe reference for it), and any gift codes you bought or redeemed.
Email you ask for. If you ask to be notified when a sport or game launches, we store that email address for that purpose. We also log the transactional emails we send you (like purchase receipts) so you never get duplicates.
2. What we don’t do
No advertising, no ad trackers, no selling or renting personal data, no cross-site tracking. For site analytics we use Plausible, a privacy-focused, cookieless service that counts page visits in aggregate — it stores nothing on your device, can’t identify you, and doesn’t follow you around the web.
3. Cookies and browser storage
We use browser storage for one thing: keeping you signed in (your session token) and remembering in-progress work like an unsaved entry draft on your own device. There are no advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
4. Who processes data for us
A small set of service providers run MockSlate, each handling only what their job requires: Supabase (account sign-in and our database — where your account and saved data live), Stripe (payments), Resend (sends our transactional email, like receipts), and ImprovMX (routes email sent to our @mockslate.com addresses to us). We don’t share personal data with anyone else except when the law requires it.
5. What’s public
Saved mocks are private to your account. Things become public only when you take a public action: entering a contest publishes that entry’s scorecard page and leaderboard row (your entry, its title, its graded result, and your display name if you set one), and joining a league shows your display or team name to that league. Your email address is never shown publicly.
6. Your rights
Email hello@mockslate.com from your account address to access a copy of your data, correct something that’s wrong, or delete your account and associated data. Deletion requests are handled by a human — there’s no self-serve delete button yet — and we’ll confirm when it’s done. We keep purchase records we’re legally required to retain (tax and accounting), and already-published contest results may keep a graded entry visible with the display name removed.
7. Retention
We keep your data while your account exists. Delete your account and we delete it, except the legally-required purchase records above. Launch-notification emails are kept until the notification is sent or you ask us to remove yours.
8. Children
MockSlate accounts are for people 13 and older; prize contests require you to be 18 or older. We don’t knowingly collect data from children under 13 — if you believe a child has created an account, email us and we’ll delete it.
9. Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we’ll update the date at the top and, for significant changes, tell you by email or an in-product notice.
