Baseball mock schedule FAQ
How does the balanced MLB schedule work?
Since 2023, every team plays all 29 opponents: 13 games against each division rival, 6 or 7 against each of the ten other same-league teams, 4 against a natural interleague rival, and 3 against each of the other 14 interleague clubs — 162 games in 52 series.
Why build series by series instead of game by game?
Baseball schedules are made of 52 series of 2–4 games, two per week — an early-week set and a weekend set. Building at the series level matches how the real schedule is constructed and keeps a 162-game season manageable.
What does the builder enforce?
Exact series and game counts per opponent, venue-exact home-game targets that land every club on 81 home games, the All-Star break, and travel guidance — cross-country warnings for back-to-back series over 1,800 miles and alerts when homestands or road trips stretch past about 10 games.
When does the 2028 MLB schedule come out?
The league typically releases the following season's schedule in mid-summer — the 2028 schedule is expected around July–August 2027. Until then, the matchup structure is fully determined by the balanced-schedule formula.
