NFL Survivor 2026: Circa vs. Splash and $41M in Prizes

Updated: September 5, 2026

NFL survivor has gotten enormous. Circa Survivor and the Splash Survivor World Championship guarantee more than $41 million combined in 2026, each at $1,000 per entry. But they do not play the same way: Circa has 20 pick legs with separate Thanksgiving and Christmas rounds, and Splash has six double-pick weeks where two teams must win.

If you are deciding between them, or just trying to understand how a simple office pool turned into a $20 million game, here is how the two contests work, where they differ, and how to plan your picks.

How an NFL survivor pool works in 2026

Pick one team to win. If they win, you survive. If they lose or tie, you are out. And once you have used a team, you cannot use it again.

That is the whole game. The strategy comes from everything after Week 1. The obvious favorite this Sunday might be the team you desperately wish you still had in December.

How NFL survivor grew from office pools to $20 million by 2026

For years, survivor was mostly an office game: throw in some money, make one pick a week, and watch half the group disappear when a big favorite loses.

Then the prize pools got serious.

Circa Sports launched Circa Survivor in 2020 with a little over 1,000 entries at $1,000 apiece. By 2024, more than 14,000 entries had pushed the pool to $14.26 million.

In 2025 it got bigger. The contest guaranteed $15 million, but enough people entered to push the final pool to $18.718 million. Five entries made it through all 20 legs, and each collected $3,743,600.

That kind of finish turns survivor into an event. Every upset matters. Every remaining entry is visible. And every January, the stories about who is still alive bring another wave of players the next season.

Circa Survivor 2026: $20 million, 20 legs, no rake

Circa Survivor is in its seventh year. The 2026 guarantee is $20 million, up from $15 million in 2025, and Circa states the pool grows past that if entries exceed the guarantee. There is no rake. The full entry pool is paid out.

Item 2026 rule
Entry fee $1,000
Entries per person Up to 10, with rebuys allowed under set conditions before registration closes
Guarantee $20 million, no rake
Pick legs 20: Weeks 1 to 18 plus a Thanksgiving leg and a Christmas leg
Team reuse None. One use per team per entry across all 20 legs
Registration deadline September 12, 2026
Out of state Register in person in Nevada, then pick remotely through a proxy

The two holiday legs are what make Circa different. In Thanksgiving week you make one pick from the holiday games and a separate pick from the rest of that week's slate. Christmas week works the same way. That is two extra teams burned, in weeks where the holiday slates are short. Anyone planning a Circa path has to decide in September which teams they will spend on those two legs.

Circa also runs the Grandissimo, a $100,000-entry survivor contest with a $4 million guarantee for 2026. Its first year, 2025, drew 69 entries and ended in Week 13 when six surviving entries split the pool. That is a different game for a different bankroll, but it is part of why the survivor category keeps making news.

Splash Survivor World Championship 2026: $21 million from your phone

Splash Sports opened the Splash x Polymarket $21,000,000 Survivor World Championship in June 2026. The guarantee is $21 million, the largest ever offered for a pro football survivor contest. Entry is $1,000. The difference from Circa is access: there is no trip to Las Vegas. Splash says it is available online in 35-plus states and Canada, subject to eligibility rules.

Double-pick weeks change the math more than the holiday legs do. In six weeks you need two winners, not one. Twelve single weeks plus six double weeks is 24 team-uses out of 32 teams. Splash first planned eight double weeks, with Weeks 3 and 6 included, then dropped those two after players said the early doubles were too harsh. Weeks 17 and 18 stay single on purpose, so the last entries standing have room to hedge.

Splash added two features new to the category. Entries can be sold to other players before the contest ends, so a live entry has a market price. And groups can buy an entry together, name a captain to submit picks, and split the cost in the app.

Which is harder?

They are hard in different places.

  • Circa is 20 single picks. The pain is the two holiday legs, where the slate is small and the favorites are few. A Circa path is a 20-step chain with two narrow links in it.
  • Splash is 12 single picks and 6 double picks. The pain is Weeks 12 to 16, five straight weeks where every pick is a two-team parlay, right when the field is thinnest.

The common lesson: the value of a team is not its win chance this week. It is its win chance this week compared with every other week you could use it. A 78% favorite in Week 2 might be worth more in Week 14 when your options are thin. Both contests reward the people who map the whole season before they make the first pick.
