Slot Draft
Pro · glory onlyDraft the schedule before it exists. You’re not picking games — you’re picking the marquee broadcast slots: “Week 12 Sunday Night,” “Thanksgiving — night,” the Kickoff opener. When the schedule releases, each of your windows fills with whatever game the NFL put there — that game is yours for the season, and every point both teams score is yours. The skill is knowing which windows the league loads with shootouts, not rock fights — before anyone knows the matchups.
Draft prep is what MockSlate does best — every window below carries 24 seasons of what the NFL actually put there, and the scheduling fact bank turns trivia into strategy.

How it works, in three lines
- You and up to 9 others snake-draft the 40 windows below — four windows each, and every window is claimed by one player only.
- You’re betting on shootouts, not rock fights: your points are your games’ combined final scores, so a 38–35 track meet beats a 13–10 slugfest every time.
- On release day each window fills with the real game the NFL put there — and every point both teams score is yours. The averages under each window are the strategy signal: late Thanksgiving runs 55+ combined points, some Sunday nights barely clear 38.
The window board — all 40 guaranteed slots
Tap a window for its recent historyOnly windows whose existence is guaranteed before matchups are known: no Thursday nights (the count varies year to year), no Christmas (it follows the weekday), no Saturdays or international slots. Every drafted window is certain to exist and produce a real game — no dead picks, ever. The history under each window is the draft prep: 24 seasons of what the league actually puts there.

Slot Draft FAQ
What is a Slot Draft?
A draft that runs before the NFL schedule exists. Instead of games, you draft guaranteed national broadcast windows — like "Week 12 Sunday Night" — in a 10-player snake draft, 4 rounds. When the schedule releases, each of your windows fills with whatever game the NFL scheduled there, and that game is yours for the season.
How can I draft games that don't exist yet?
You're not betting on matchups — you're betting on which windows the league will load with great games. The NFL always protects its marquee slots: Sunday and Monday night, the Kickoff opener, Thanksgiving, Black Friday. Reading which weeks get the best games is exactly the schedule-prediction skill MockSlate's 24 seasons of slot history teach.
Which windows are in the draft pool?
Only the 40 windows guaranteed to exist before matchups are known: 18 Sunday Night games (one per week), 17 Monday Night games (Weeks 1–17), the Kickoff opener, all three Thanksgiving games, and Black Friday. Thursday nights, Christmas, Saturday, and international windows are deliberately excluded — their counts vary year to year, and every drafted slot must be certain to produce a real game.
What happens if my game gets flexed?
You own the window, not the matchup. If a game is flexed out of your Week 12 Sunday Night slot in November, you own whatever gets flexed in — the signature rule, and the deliberate inverse of Schedule Release Draft, where you own the matchup wherever it moves.
Is there a prize?
No — Slot Draft is a MockSlate Pro game, and Pro games are glory-only by design (leaderboard bragging rights, never a cash prize). Your four games' combined final scores are summed for the season; league winners rank on the national Slot Draft leaderboard. Free accounts can read everything on this page — playing requires Pro.
How is it scored?
Each of your four windows scores its game's combined final score — both teams' points added together, nothing else. No bonuses for yardage, defensive touchdowns, or overtime: a 38–35 track meet outscores a 13–10 defensive battle, full stop. Your season total is simply the sum of all four windows — no best-week rule, every slot counts.
